Between Two Worlds

DV1

I have never felt completely rooted in this world. One part of me wants to engage socially with people, while the other wants to retreat into the quiet of my creativity and imagination. As a child, I spent hours by myself drawing, sewing, or writing on my dad's old typewriter. My mother would come to check on me, worried about my hours of solitude. In my adult years, I still spend ample time alone and often feel conflicted, but I understand it more. My creativity requires hours of quietness, as does my soul. This push-pull relationship I have with life will most likely accompany me forever. Nevertheless, I am grateful for every aspect of this lifetime, as it all feeds my art!
