Begin
I begin to worry
imagining the worst
let go
I tell myself
surrender
to
what
will be
the people voted
the madman
now has power
nothing to do
but wait
watch
and see if
we the people
awaken
rise up
and say NO!

I am grateful for all the years
of security I grew up with,
knowing I lived in a country
that at least tried to be good.
May it be so again.
